Secret Swimming Pool to Open 1st November 2011
The picture below is one of Chiang Mai’s best kept secrets. It shows the newly renovated Chiang Mai Municipal swimming pool.
Located on the eastern side of the road which circles the Municipal Arena in Chang Peuk, access is to the northern end of the pool via the small ticket box shown at the top left corner of this picture.
Public use of the pool is from 4:30 – 8:00 pm with a charge of 40 baht per adult or 20 baht for members. The membership price is yet to be announced.

Thanks for the hands-up. Perhaps this obvious but is the pool only open in the late afternoon. Given the cooler weather in the late afternoon/evening, it seems it would be open mornings or at least mid afternoon.
Is the CM Municipal Arena the same as CM Municipal Stadium?
Yes Municipal Arena, Stadium same thing. The pool is used for students during the day, hence the late start.
You could try your luck before 4:30.
The price is only 30 baht and the pool, being in the shade is cooler than the 60 baht 700 year pool.
