Huai Teng Tao with its ornamental lake and forest abuts the Doi Suthep Pui National Park in Mae Rim District 10 kilometres from Chiang Mai city. The land is under the management of the army and is an important semi-natural recreation area for local people and for visitors.

For the past seven years Gum Hak Doi Suthep has organised the planting and care of indigenous trees near the lake and in degraded forest areas and this August plans to plant alongside the road in the north west sector of the park.

The photos below, taken from the road, show the southern end of the planting area taken at a February 2013 weeding bee and the present northern extreme.

Planting is planned for the week beginning Sunday 18th August and may be over a number of days.

If you are interested in coming along please write to gumhakdoisuthep@yahoo.com and indicate times and days most convenient for you.
