Plastic safety posts for roads have been in use in Paris for over a decade. Now they have been introduced by the Main Roads Department.
But while in Paris they separate bikes in the curb lane from heavy vehicles, here they have been installed at the Rincome intersection to indicate a dead-end lane.
Bike lanes in Chiang Mai streets such as Loi Kroh and around the moat have become close to invisible with no paint applied for many months. Moerover the request for plastic posts to make clear the presence of bike lanes has been ignored by the Municipality.
Perhaps it is time to relocate some of the gay pot plants the authorities prefer to spend their money on to line the bike lanes?
