Just looked at the Kunming-Singapore rail connection on the net yesterday. All being driven by China with a link from Yunnan to Luang Pra Bang then Vientiane and on to Bangkok & beyond. One site in Malaya was full of complaints about the slowness of railway improvements in Malaysia. No site mentions upgrading rail services [...]

There has been much talk over the last few months about new high-speed rails links planned for Thailand and neighbouring south-east asian countries.
