The cover-up continues.
The “full” report can be found at http://www.ddc.moph.go.th .
This is not the report of a proper coronial enquiry.
Neither the name of the culprit hotel where the deaths occurred, The Downtown Inn, nor of its proprietor President of the Provincial Administrative Organisation Boonlert Buranupakorn appear in the report.
The name of Chiang Mai Governor ML Panadda Diskul, whose picture is featured on many billboards around Chiang Mai, also does note appear.
The Governor dismissed concerns about the deaths early on by saying they were coincidental and President Boonlert has not been quoted in the English language press about the matter.
The question remains as to what these gentlemen might have done to have prevented these deaths in the first place that they so clearly failed to have done?
One wonders what Japanese people who read of this sad affair think? In Japan one often sees business and government officials, in the ancient tradition of Hari Kari admit their failings and resign in shame.
It appears there is no shame in Thailand.
(Note- The report mentions the presence of “Aluminium molecules”. Aluminium is too reactive to appear in the presence of oxygen in its elemental form so the science behind the report appears dubious)
