Beware of the Table

Recently we questioned safety standards of the State Railways of Thailand showing pictures of track in poor condition.

The photo here in the dining car of the Nakhorn Ping Express shows a poteltially deadly table fixed firmly to the floor.

In a collision the diner seated would be thrown forward with enought force for the table to destroy his abdomen. Dining in other cars does not pose such a danger as removable tables are used.
